Costco, Gas Pumps and NFC

In the last week my nearest Costco gas pumps were updated and the new system appeared to be equipped with wireless payment. I am sure Costco isn't using it yet, which is unfortunate considering the convenience in cycling through the weekend gasathon their pumps go through.

I wonder why Costco isn't using it considering they already have some smartphone app developers, but then again I am continually reminded when I go inside that they will not even utilize the chip in their cobranded credit cards. Then again, maybe it is just my nearest Costco location, or just those in Georgia.

Anyone lese have Costco gas pumps updated recently with what appears to be NFC technology built in?

Companies do not convert just a handful of stores, because they update the pumps or cash registers. It will be a system wide conversion of all or most all of their stores. When they reach critical mass, they'll probably have promo announcement to their members, just before going live.
