Well, I just got the new DCL24a from costco. I was very curious about the difference between the TN and other panels, but now I see why you want to avoid the TN. Viewing clarity when viewed from above is very poor.
But you already know that. Let's talk about the good and bad of it.
First of all, the color is very different then my Dell 24". The white's have a blueish hint, but it seems to be VERY crisp and the contrast is impressive. It doesn't seem to have the same geometry as my dell -- which I guess is a true 16x9, This must be 16x10 because it looks a lot more square.
Now, the picture through the RGB cable is HORRIBLE!!! The pixles are out of phase, and I cannot seem to adjust them properly. Also, the color is WAY off. I had to do some major adjustment through NVIDIA control panel.
Truth is though, when I first hooked up my Dell I had problems too. Maybe I should install the driver..
