Venting just a bit, but man Costco can be frustrating at times. I went with my family Wednesday night because we needed some staples (milk, eggs, bread). While there the fam notices a waffle iron on sale and they mention how they'd all like to have one for weekend breakfasts. I laughed it off that we weren't there for a waffle iron but made mental note of it because they actually HAD mentioned a desire for one in the past. It was a good sale, decent unit, so I figured I'd come back on a lunch break some time and pick one up as a Christmas gift.

I went by on my Friday lunch because I figured that if I didn't do it soon I would forget and/or they would be sold out. Well on Friday they were sold out. I checked Costco.com and there was an indefinite backorder. I asked the staff and they said they had ordered more but with the backorder online it was affecting their ability to get stock also. Oh well, I guess I just wasted an hour of my time. I'll let one off of Amazon Prime instead.

Fast forward to Sunday and we're back at Costco for Thanksgiving stuff and our semi-weekly stock up. They've got the damn waffle irons back in stock. From Wednesday to Friday they sell out with indefinite backorder and from Friday to Sunday they're back in stock and on the floor. Frustrating that I wasted an hour going on apparently the one day they were not available and that I paid more on Prime.

Part of the reason Costco can keep prices low is a just-in-time inventory chain. Once in a while it leads to temporary out of stocks. Not a big deal, you just over-reacted and now you're blaming them.

What's frustrating is being in this goddamn hot dog and pizza line. They should just add this as an option right at checkout.

My wife and I let our Costco membership expire, as every time we went into the store for a couple of knick-knacks, we'd leave with $400 worth of "stuff" (year-long peanut butter supply, anyone?). And Kirkland chocolate covered almonds - I had to stop gaining weight, LOL. We simply got tired of having to truck our "grocery" shopping home...

I went to a Costco after I went for my laser eye surgery out of town. It was pretty rad just how huge that place is and how everything they sell is huge.

I have enough vitamin C tablets to last me a life time. I need to start taking them more often actually, those things probably actually go bad.

Unfortunately this happens from time to time with Costco and sometimes those items never come back. There have been a few things there we've loved that have dissapered never to return

You've been able to do this for years

When you are as busy a store as Costco is these things will happen. They often have those specials at the end of an aisle one week and it will be gone soon after. I go once a month and can't remember seeing the end-aisle specials there from one month to the next.

The biggest issue I have with Costco is I live in one of the most densely populated states in America. There is just no point in going there on the weekends, it's a total shit show. I mean you can go, but it's a mess. Luckily my work schedule let's me get there on weekdays so I can avoid the madhouse on sat-sun. But it's still quite busy. We simply need more Costcos in the area. Costco if you are listening open some more damn stores in Northern NJ!

and send this dude a waffle maker!
