I might have rembered the pricing a bit off, but I"m 98% sure that was it.

specs were 15watts, 750 lumens, 8000 lamp life.

What part of the country?
In NJ this has usually been for one month in January.

In washington it is year round, also in Mass and RI...

I have them in my house. Flip the lightswitch and there is a second or two delay. Also, they take a minute to get to full brightness. No big deal, saves a lot of energy.

Pretty much all CF are this way....rather, I've used quite a variety of CFs and they've all exhibited this property.

If you live near So Cal you can go to certain Costcos and probably find any CFL type bulb without any rebate. Edison provides the discount. The manufacturer to look for is Feit Electric.
