Cosmos 1000 I/O Firewire question

One of the reasons for getting the Cosmos 1000 was for the Firewire I/O panel option.

Since all motherboards that have Firewire in the back I/O panel of the motherboard, I was wondering if this could end up having me be forced to get only certain motherboards that can allow you to do this.
