Cosmos 1000 - anybody here have experience with these cases?

I've been looking into buying this case but i've been put off by some reviewers that have complained about the lack of HDD cooling. There was supposed to be a optional fan mounting kit for the HDD bays but i've not been able to find this kit anywhere. There was also supposed to be an all aluminum version of this case coming out at some point.

The other case I have been looking at is the silverstone tj10. How is the noise on this case?

I like the original stacker (STC-T01) better than most of the later versions. It has spaces for two PSUs so you can power lots of drives more cheaply than buying one huge PSU. You can put up to 12 HDDs in there using CM's passive cages (the new 4-in-3 cage looks really sharp and is totally universal, but I can't find them for sale anywhere yet) or 15 using expensive, 5-drive, hot-swap cages. And each set of 4 or 5 HDDs has its own fan. And that opening on the left panel looks to be just the right size for one of those 250mm fans - wouldn't need any other fans in the case besides the HDD cages and one of those.

I've heard of an all-aluminum version of the Cosmos but IDK if it will have any HDD cooling improvements or not. Looks like it wouldn't be too hard to mod a fan in at the bottom of the HDD stack.

Lian Li has a bunch of cases that can handle 12 HDDs OOB. But I don't like the inverted mobo mount.

Thermaltake Armor has drive space similar to the original stacker. Up to 18 HDDs depending on the cages you choose to use - the one that comes for the front (iCage) isn't as space-efficient as other cages only holding three HDDs in three 5" bays. Looks like it would be possible to remove the rear 3xHDD cage and put another PSU there. The Kandalf is a variant of the Armor.

nice link Zepper I want this case, but I would love to get an Aluminum version. I hate just rumors I wish Coolermaster would come out and say there will be one, even if they say it's not going to be out until 2008.

I will be getting one soon enough.... Allot of modding ahead. If it came in black it would be perfect, one less thing that i have to do. But it wont be to bad, im going to give it a black exterior, and a cherry red interior.

black + window would be perfect for me, I should see if performance-pc has a window'ed version for sale. On a unrelated note do any optical drive makers have silver bezel models on the market? I've seen the bezels themselves for sale but I'm lazy. Don't know if my black drives would look sleek in shiny silver case.

That switch in fan position seems to take up too much space in the drive bay - obviously wasn't intended to be that way. I will most likely go with a Cosmos for my new build but I'm sure when I do there will be a new revision announced right after that including proper hdd cooling

Quite enjoy how that link shows the Cosmos outperforming the P180. I think it just proves how much the P180 is overrated.

I just received it. Moving the fan does take up 2 drive bays. I wonder why you can't just install a fan without the cover. IN fact, i'm going to try it. The other odd thing i've found is I can't get the screwholes with my ultra x3 to line up properly with the case unless i put it right side up. The ultra has a fan on its bottom so i want that facing the bottom grille. The case is rather nice looking in person though.

An all aluminum one with proper hd cooling would be perfect. I just didn't have time to waste any more. I almost went with a tj10 but I wanted something that would dampen sound.
