cosair TX750 VS HX620

Well that all depends on what video card you will be using as well. If you have a mid range card then you can easily use the VX450 and have more then enough power and a faily quite unit. You may npt need a 600+W PSU.

harbin,

The HX60 is modular and the TX750 is not. If you can live with 620 watts, I'd say go for the HX620 - I have one and love it and it modular cabling. The 750 may have extra power, but the gangle of wiring is there like older PSUs and the extra cables still have to be tucked away... Modularity is great when you can just use the cables you need...

also, hx=multiple 12v rails tx=single 12v rail
hx620 might be more stable

if you plan on running your overclocked processor with 2x 8800 gtx ultras and 4+ harddrives go with the tx750 for the extra juice

The HX is also a single-rail design. Marketing calls it triple-rail because when it came out, multiple rails were all the rage. When you load one of the 12v rails on the HX620, it can draw current from the other rails too, meaning that all 12v current is available whenever - just like a single rail. Also, many of today's single-rail power supplies are just 2- or 4-rail units with extra circuitry to combine their outputs.

When did the HX620 come out?

It's been well over a year now, right?

There's gotta be a similar product out right now that may be better.

Yes the HX series is almost 2 years old now but still has ever thing you really need in a modular PSU at that wattage. The only update it could use is upgrading the 6 pin PCI-e connectors to 6+2 pin PCI-e connectors. But the 8 pin connectors are not needed yet and may never really be needed. I for one hope that the power requirements of video cards doesn't continue up to the point where the 8 pin is needed. hopefully we can get good high end cards that only need a single 6 pin in the next generation of cards. But the HX620 is about as good as it gets for a 600W modular PSU.

The current HX models come with 6+2 pin PCIe connectors now. And Corsair will send you extra cables if you ask on their forums. BTW 620W is more than enough.
