Hmm, it's a GM engine. I wonder if I could drop one in my Buick wagon.

So maybe 1/3 will never get driven except around town for parades, another 1/3 will get wrecked by drivers that can't handle the car, and the other third driven by old men on weekends to go get coffee and show it off? That's a lot of horses to handle.

I'm sure every gold chain wearing convicted felon car salesman will be putting at least a $50K ADM on these.

It's a rich mans toy. The entire point of the thing is to be over the top, so of course it's going to be stupid expensive with huge dealer markup. If any random clown worth a million bucks could afford it, it wouldn't be desirable.

Would you mind elaborating on that last part?

What's not clear? A million bux worth assets isn't all that much. Some fellow with a paid off home worth a million, and a very limited income could afford the car, and would be an idiot if he bought it. I'm sure there are a few wanabe playboy's that will take on $4k a month payments for the car and insurance, but there aren't many.

that's absolutely insane. i really hope none end up crashed from being a dumbass. it's gonna take a really skilled driver to handle that.

they need a better exhaust on that though. aftermarket will take care of that i'm sure.

You made it sound like if it's pricey it's desirable. That with an ADM it makes it more desirable.

With the ZR1 at 1064 HP, the Zora should make 1200+ HP and drive all 4 wheels. It's bound to have the electric motors from the E-Ray

In any car. Humans are not well equipped to drive that.

It's not as bad as it sounds, at least in some cars! The new Tesla's punch you in the chest when YOU punch it, but makes it feel like you're on solid rollercoaster rails! I mean, as long as you're not a Mustang, haha!

Err no, mere mortals just don't have that kind of reflex, not to mention familiarity with the vehicle dynamics. Racing should stay on the race track. Street cars don't need 2 second 0-100km/hr. I doubt there are many roads that are in well enough condition and clean enough for that kind of acceleration.

Yep, it is a marketing stat, not a useful performance stat.

On the race track as an amateur participating in a driving event, you start from a standstill once per session and take the car gently out of the pit for a warm up lap.

Wheel to wheel racing will be done in a 200hp spec E30/E46 or 130 hp Miata, lol.

tbh for non-track-racers, I feel like the Plaid option in Tesla's & other cars would sort of get old. It's a fun gee-whiz kind of thing when you first get it & show it off to people, then you just go back to cruising to work & around town lol.

I love the ZR1 so much. Its evolution throughout the years is amazing. The OG is still my favorite though with its Lotus inspired quad overhead cam V8 mated with the ZF six speed manual transmission. That red headed step child put down an impressive 350 hp to wheels in the early 1990's! It may not seem like much now but an impressive figure back then. The only problem is anyone who knows how to work on them is either retired or dead....:(

Rumor is the Lotus inspired V8 in the OG pissed of GM engineers so much they came up with the LS1 which is IMO the greatest V8 ever designed.
