I'd be wary of the new engine. Do your homework on it. He didn't even spell Kooks right. I'd look for something else. For 26k you can get an 2005 GTO that will beat a stock c5 Corvette.

edit- realized the "new" engine only has 8k on it.

oh its an auto?... man nm then....

this is the email I got back from the seller...

Nope. No guessing, I have the actual dyno and head flow sheets. The car is in
good condition actually. If I had to say anything negitive it would be the driver
sheet is a bit warn and could stand to be replaced. Nothing major. The only
reason I'm selling it is because I need to get rid of one of my 2 cars before I
close on my house in March / April. Do you know much about Vettes or the LS1
motor? MTI (renown for their high power daily driver vettes) built the car
totally. When are you lookinhg to buy?

wtf?

383 stroker has been around for a long long time I wouldn't worry about that. I am no chevy guy but I am pretty sure its just a 400 sbc crank in a 350 sbc block. Its not anything crazy.

Don't get it. Get one that somebody drove like a eunuch. You don't know what has been 'stressed'. Admitted, what could break probably has and been fixed, but still. Keep looking and wait.

Agreed. I doubt he just stroked the engine at 80k+ miles, there was a problem and they stroked it during rebuild, I would be willing to bet.
