heh. Texas. figures. lots of people fail at driving down there.

If you dont like the way we drive then stay off the side walk...

Another thing to note the person driving the car behind them only had a registration sticker...? Supposed to also have an inspection sticker...? If it was farther to the left side then it was placed wrong...

It might have been a new car, they go off the dealer lots with one sticker only 90% of the time.

Like one of the comments said, figures it's the guy with the tacky chrome wheels who had no traction and can't drive.

Love seeing ballers in fast cars with 22" x 7 rims and stretched low profile budget all season tires.

If its a new car dealer then no they put a 2 year sticker on them or used to (maybe only 1 year now)...? But even if its a used car dealer they are supposed to by law (the states way of collecting revenue)

Oh got a good little story...

About 4-5 years ago at one of the local drag racing tracks there was a school teacher that had just bought a brand new Vette and took it to the track to play and of course it got away from him and totaled the car he was basicly ok other than needing a new pair of pants but it was told he tried to claim it on insurance and they found out what happened so needless to say he I'm sure has a hard time even getting insurance now besides still having to pay for the Vette... (happened at Ben Bruce raceway in Evil Smell TX...Evadale TX) The have a huge papermill in the area...

WOW! I'm assuming he had traction control turned off, shifted into 2nd, gave it too much gas in what looked to be a slight turn and lost it? Wow, that's messed up. Ruined the other guy's Vette too.

And WTF is up with the guy with the cam? He's driving AND taking the video?

And for anyone not familiar with the Woodlands, it's a very nice area in Houston, TX where it's not uncommon to see Porsche's, Ferrari's, BMW M6's, Lambo's...and Vettes.

The inspection sticker goes in the lower left corner of the window so if it was further to the left side it's in the right place... by law the registration sticker can go above the inspection sticker, or to the right of the inspection sticker along the bottom of the windshield.

No, rear tires simply broke loose on the smooth concrete pavement and the driver panicked and overcorrected when he felt the car slip just a little.

So what should he have been doing?

Ease off the throttle and turn into the skid, duh. :D

In other words let the car go sideways and just flow with it instead of fighting it, as counterintuitive as that sounds. You're going sideways no matter what once it breaks loose, at that point you just need to trust the car and keep it straight.

Lolz @ racing on smooth concrete. At least they didn't jack up a Z06.

Looks like it was the guy on the right in the wrong all the way, not just because of the obvious, but I'm guessing he had to merge left to get on a freeway or something and was the instigator trying to get ahead of the other lane instead of yielding. With the other car being a C6 and his a C5 he's the one who felt intimidated and had something to prove.

Skip to 0:40, everything before that is a waste.

Skipping to :40 seconds also allows you to miss most of the cameraman smacking his gum. Close your f**king mouth when chewing gum. Listening to that was more annoying then watching the guy wreck two Vettes at once.

If the guy on the left had stayed on the gas, he probably wouldn't have gotten hit. Looked like he slowed down just so that he was lined up perfectly for the driver on the right to hit him in the door.

Just watched it again on a real screen instead of my phone. Looks like the rear slid right and he tried to steer left (wrong) and when he started aiming straight for the other car, panicked, over corrected the other way, then locked up the brakes (watch for brake lights and smoke) which is really what caused the biggest loss of control.

How many times do you hear in drivers ed or any other driving course steer INTO a skid and not to hit the brakes when sliding?

Yet when your arsehole is puckered up the first thing you *want* to do is hit the brake pedal but you mustn't :awe:

The best way to get over this is drive in the snow in the mountains. You either end up in snow bank or learn how to turn into your slide without stomping the breaks.
