Corsair XMSPC3200 question

I did a search to see if I can find out, but it turned up no results. I have a stick of XMS3200 v1.2 I was wondering if this is BH5 chips? I'd rather not take the heatspreader off to find out. I bought it from Newegg a long time ago when they had it on sale for $118. It's a 512dimm with black heatspreader. If anyone knows please post in here! thanks

There's a quick way to find out if it is, besides taking off the heatspreader. If it will run 220 mhz fsb, at 2-2-2-5 timings, with 2.8v vdimm, then it is. I believe to find out absolutely for sure if it is, you either have to remove the heatspreader, or have the entire part number.

thanks, I was just wondering

Would I have to find another CH5 stick in order to run dual channel? Or should I just sell this stick and get a dual channel kit ?

there's a chance that it might not match and dual channel doesn't work. if you don't want to run the risk of that happening then maybe it's better to sell it and get a dual channel kit.

that's a good stick of ram though. replacing that with corsair value series ram pieces it definatly not what you want.

I would probably get another XMS series if going Dual Channel. Either Corsair or Crucial, I have had good luck with these two brands
