Corsair XMS2 800MHz PC6400 Question about adding more memory???

OK,
I Just got back from FRY'S, after buying 4GB Corsair XMS2 DDR2 PC6400 (800MHz Speed) I even fell off the fence..(ouch!) and FINALLY bought the Windows7 64Bit PRO OEM. So now I will have 8GB DDR2 with Win7, instead of the annoying 3.3GB on XP. Yeah!

I wanted to ask if it makes any difference if I add new memory, the Corsair TWIN 2X4096-6400C5C DU C, that has XMS Heat Spreaders, to my existing Corsair matched 2x2GB DDR2 800MHz PC6400-TWIN2X2048-6400, that I believe DOES NOT have the heat spreaders. as long as they are both PC6400 /800MHz DDR2?

Any problem inserting the two new 2x2GB Ram sticks on the MOBO now, BEFORE I wipe the HDD and install Win7 64 Bit OS?

* The TWIN2X2048-6400 memory DID come with heatspreaders. Have you removed them?
* The timings are the same, but the voltages are a little different.
I'd make sure each set were in their own channel and that the voltage was set to 1.9v since that's what one set is rated for.

From the links you provided, I should not mix old with the new,even if it's the same Corsair XMS2 / PC6400 and 800 MHz, the latency speed and voltage is different, so one of the following would be the best case scenario to do >

(1) Trash my existing XMS 2x2GB PC6400 / 800MHz Ram ( 5-5-5-12 /1.9v ), and
buy ALL new matched 8GB XMS 4x2GB PC6400 / 800MHz Ram ( 5-5-5-18 / 1.8v )?

OR

(2) Install new ram anyway and go into BIOS and change the Voltage, then worry about poor performance?

OR

(3) Return this new memory, and try to locate and buy the old Ram sticks that would match the 5-5-5-12/1.9v) I hate to just toss it after paying over $100.00 a few years ago.

What links are you talking about?
Like I said before, and will say again...
Run both sets together,
Run each set in their own memory channel (see your MB manual for that information),
Set the voltage to 1.9v in your BIOS (see your MB manual for that information).
There are no performance issues to worry about using these two sets together.

What Blain said.

Both kits should likely work at 5-5-5-18, and 1.8v. If it doesn't pass an overnight memtest86+ run at 1.8v, then try 1.9v for both. (That won't hurt the one rated for 1.8v at all.)

Note that if you are overclocking, then filling all four memory slots may require you to bump up your northbridge voltage just a hair.
