Is it worth the premium ($250 vs. $207...2226 vs. 2326) for the "LL" in the XMS series?

no. unless that 1ms really is worth $43 to you ;) or you need (not guaranteed) a few extra MHz

You can probably just change the timings using your motherboard's BIOS.

After buying it, I regretfully say no. Problem is, Corsair Pc3200 2.5 CAS value ram is the same price as pc3200 xms ll with spreaders.

Why don't you get Musking PC3500 Level I for $205 for a gig (2x 512)? 2,3,3 timings but obviously highier clock speed.

I've used corsair, but I've heard really good things about mushkin.

I've been quite happy that my PC2700 Corsair is getting to 400MHz @ 2-2-3-11 stable.

Probably just got lucky though.
