Howdy folks.

Maybe I am doing something wrong as an o/c noob, but I can?t get my Corsair XMS DDR400 CAS2 RAM to go not even 1MHz above 200. I am using 2 sticks of 512MB in dual channel on an Abit NF7-S 2.0 board with a retail Barton 2500+ & Antec 430 Truepower.

I am currently running the RAM at 400MHz with everything else stock specs, so maybe I?ve reached the limit already or maybe I don't have the timings right? Also I can?t get the 2500+ to budge at all from its multiplier. I can get 11.5 @1.75V w/190FSB, but it?s not real stable. I am using a Thermaltake HSF & Artic Silver paste. Thank for any help m8s.

Haha... right... it runs at it's rated speed, that's all that it has to do... they make no guarantees about overclocking.

Thanks for the input :) I won't RMA them cause nothing is wrong with them all though when I bought them I thought the XMS series were overclockers.

How far exactly can you push the voltage on RAM and what's considered 'lose' timing?

Shady, are you running dual channel mode and what FSB/Multi are you running that Barton 2500+ at?

you should be able to at least hit 210 or so without upping your voltage. Shoot, I'm running PC2100 (266mhz) PNY, and with stock voltage I can take it up to 312...

actually, i'm running a 1700+ AGAIN at 200*11 6-2-2-2

i can run it at 225*10 on 2.5-4-4-8 on 2.7 or 2.8V

EDIT: 1 stick of 512

I run my xms pc3200c2 at 412 everyday with timings of 11-3-3-2. For some reason setting the T(ras) to 11 on the Nforce 2 boards helps the stability and also improves the memory performance. give those timings a shot. 2.7 volts should be enough for that ram to.
