I've got some Kingston ValueRAM (3200-512mb) and i wanna upgrade to a gig, because Far Cry keeps on going to my hard drive and it lags, which annoys me. My question is, should i get another 512 of the Kingston for 118 Link, or get two sticks of Corsair XMS 3200 for 256 Link. Will see that big of a difference? i know i saw a HUGE difference going from PNY to Kingston a while back...

Just get another stick of Kingston. If your not overclocking at all I would get some cheap DDR400 like the Geil Valueram for $92 instead of getting another pricier Kingston when more than likely the Valueram will use totally different chips than your current stick of ram.

im OC'ing.. just not the memory. it doesnt like it when i take it above about 205, so i just keep it 200 b/c i see no reason to take it higher. the proc however, is a xp 3000+ @ 2.4. as far as the Geil, i thought it was bad to mix and match memory? compatability issues?

Get the Kingston, you may not get the same chips though.

Are you planning to use the existing Kingston with the new Corsair XMS? If so, then the XMS is worthless as you'll only be able to run as fast as the Kingston can. Plus, timings give you a very minimal speed boost.

If you're debating 1GB of Kingston vs 512MB of XMS, definately do the 1GB of Kingston.
