I bought 1 stick of 512 Corsairl XMS 3200 CAS 2.5 Unbuffered for being recognized as 2700 and 2100? and
OK here is my problem, i'll post system specs to show what I have first:

Antec 550w TruePower
Epox 8K3A+ (w/ Newest BIOS)
AMD 2000+
AlphaPAL 8045
Corsair 3200 CAS 2.5 512 Block
2x 20gig WD BB
SB Live

So I put in the Mem Block in the 3rd DIMM slot and it is recoginized only as PC2700. I get a clean boot and make sure everything is OK and then I go to OC thinking that that it might show . Put it at 155FSB, and get no boot. So i reset bios and switch to the 1st dimm and it registers as PC2100 .

Can someone tell me why this is happening?

Cr@p. You're right. Was just at the crucial website checing on their latest retail prices so kinda got that on my brain 😛

I think this is due to the fact that you cant get PC3200 without overclocking the fsb on the mobo.
133fsb: 166ram: PC2700
133fsb :133 ram: PC2100

I don't think that board supporst the 3:4 mem ratio past 133FSB, the only way you're gonna get PC3200 (DDR400) is to run the FSB at 200MHz, and there's no way in hell you're gonna get a XP2000 at a 200MHz FSB unless you unlock it and reduce the multiplier, which would probably be a good idea since it will improve performance and its the only way you're gonna get a return on investment for all the money you spent on that RAM.

The 8K3A posts PC2100 2700 or 3200 depending on your memory speed, it doesnt read it off the memory, it just figures it out from what speed your running the memory at. Like my Crucial PC2100 shows as PC2700 cause Im running 166FSB/166Memory. Only way youll get 3200 is if you crank up the FSB to 200... which is quite possible on the 8K3A, mine will do 215+ FSB. But youll have to unlock your CPU... I didnt have to myself just cause I took a 1600+ (1.4Ghz) and just took the FSB to 166 and the CPU runs fine at 1.75Ghz.

Try 166 first, because that leaves your AGP/PCI at 33/66Mhz which is what it should be... even if 150 or 155 dont work, 166 should.
