corsair twinx question

Is there any difference in getting a twinx module and getting two seperate modules said to matched?

Corsair supposedly tests TwinX modules at their rated speed and timings on dual-channel platforms, so the difference is peace of mind and the ability to RMA under warranty if they don't run the rated speed together. If you go the seperate module route, you'll most likely have to do a good deal more self-troubleshooting to find out which is the bad stick, while playing musical chairs with your memory while you wait for RMA. Considering the price is about the same (and in some cases, cheaper for TwinX), I don't see any reason not to buy TwinX if you plan to run Corsair XMS LL on a dual-channel platform.

Thanks matey, just the answer I was looking for, the site has it cheaper than two seperate sticks added together.. so that just had me curious why, probably the discount of purchasing more than one stick I guess. Think I'll go with the TwinX after hearing your view.

Np, and more on the pricing; It started off at a significant premium, but I think they've dropped now in price b/c of the drop in recent RAM prices and the fact many people don't want to commit to that much RAM in one shot (512MB or 1024MB), especially if they already have an unmatched stick in their rig. I shelled out for the 1024MB TwinX 3200LL, and have been extremely pleased with it. Great memory and no worries at high FSB on an nForce2.
