who has one?
how is the fan profile?

during gaming load - it's obvious fan will be running - that is fine.
question is - during desktop/idling.

is it gradual based on temperature?
or
is it full speed every 10min then off the next and repeat?

please do tell what wattage RM you have and its fan profile.

I don't have an RM unit, but review sites have info on fan profiles too. Useful resource: RealHardTechX PSU Review Database

Kitguru - RM650

The fan profile is superb, and this power supply is basically inaudible until over 500W is demanded and the fan starts to spin up. The good news is that thanks to the high efficiency, even at full load it is very quiet.
TechpowerUp - RM850

The V550S unit we reviewed recently did not hold the crown of quietest PSU for long, since the RM850 is the new king now. Corsair was dead serious when they stated that the RM units will operate quietly!

ChipHell (chinese site) - RM1000

Are you asking because you need a new unit? I would probably not buy RM series because they use second tier capacitors, although they're otherwise quite nice.
