Among the first offerings in the Corsair Dominator Platinum family will be DDR3 memory modules based on latest-generation 4Gb memory chips rated to run at whopping 3.0GHz. The first breed of modules will also include various dual-channel and quad-channel options for Intel Core i-series 3000 microprocessors running on Z77 (LGA1156) and X79 (LGA2011) platforms that support Intel XMP 1.3 profiles, according to an ad published in a fresh issue of Computer Power User magazine. The new modules will also be compatible with other DDR3 platforms from AMD and Intel.

In the recent years Corsair's rivals started to catch up with the Dominator-series modules in terms of speed. For example, the first 3000MHz memory modules were announced several weeks ago. But with all the advancements made to cooling system and PCB, the Dominator Platinum will not bring just new speed bins to the Dominator family, but will enable further overclocking potential for those looking forward performance records.

That's some pretty sexy RAM, I will admit. But how is this better (on a practical level) than say that perfectly overclockable 30nm Samsung low-profile RAM I was hearing about a month ago?

Nothing practical about this memory as i expect 8GB of DDR3 3000 to be 300 dollars BUT it's 1.5v memory which is amazing at that speed.

I'm predicting low supply and lots of RMAs with people not able to run rated speed at 1.5v.

1.5v??
i doupt that is lower and it is 1.65
or corsair has advanced too much or the memory will be also at 1.65v
still it is not listed at corsair website
300$ this one is suggested for 532$

I saw 1.5v for the lower models and you're absolutely right. It'll need 1.65+ for 3000

Looks like they may be too tall to fit under some CPU heat sinks, such as the NH-D14.

lol seriously?

we can get 2133mhz ram that runs at 1T for ... what? $100/8Gb? i can totally see myself spending another $800 to get that extra 2% ram score in synthetics.

This is just silly, LOL,

I only just got 2133 because it was on sale, and I was like, why not. But if you went outta your way to drop $300 on an 8gb ram kit craziness.

This will give you 40% more than 2133, so around 33GB/s, solid gain I suppose.. Until they start selling DDR4 @ below DDR3 prices, and people go, CRAP, I overpaid.

But damn it looks cool, LOLOL heat sink is fo-show fo-sure. Ram hasn't needed heatsink since DDR..

I still have 2gb DDR600 ocz platnium revision 2 in my socket 939 pc.

The title says 3GHZ, I thought Corsair was going to put out some XDR or XDR2 ram for a brief moment.

This will probably cost way too much.

I'm not sure what I'd do with all that bandwidth..

I mean, super pi isn't that fun a game, it's ok, but it's no halo.

Since DDR4 was mentioned by someone, any idea how far off that would be? Natrnally the MB and CPU would have to support it.
