Hi! This is my first post.
I just built my friend a comp with the following specs:
Athlon 64 3700 San Diego
EPoX 9NPA+Ultra mobo (the latest drivers and bios as of this writing)
4 sticks (2 matched pairs) off 512mb Corsair XMS DDR 400 PC 3200 ram
Seagate 300gb sata hdd
XFX 7800 GT
500w Antec smartpower 2.0
The problem is dual channel memory operation.
It is stable if: i have an odd number of sticks (1 or 3) or if have just 2 sticks occupying slots 1 and 3. It is NOT stable if i have just a pair occupying slots 1 and 2, likewise not stable if all four are in there at once. It simply makes this constant beeping noise out of the case speaker.
What settings? Timing? recommendations can y'all make for me? I really don't think it's the memory itself, NOR the slots. Because they all work in various combinations. Just not in even numbers, haha.
Thanks!
