ok im in dire need of help. im going to be using the radeon 4870 x2 but i cant find any psu with a 8pin. i found some corsair psu with like 4+4 and another one said 4/8. i dont know what that means but can any of those be used as a 8 pin? if not can you lead me to a psu that will support this GPu. dont know if it matters but im going to be using a Q6600 and a ASUS P5Q PRO MB. help is very appreciated, thanks :)

something like the Corsair 650TX should be fine, it's PCI-express connectors are 6+2 or 750TX if you want more leeway

what i said and what waitingfornehalem said is correct amd phenom.

corsair 650tx or 750tx are reasonable options. i do believe the 620hx (modular) is fine also. the 6+2 pin is correct for the video cards (GPU) and those connectors say PCI-express on it so you won't get confused. the 4+4 is for cpu power as the other guy says. go for the ones we suggested!

The TX750 has 4 individual 6+2 pin connectors/cables (PCI-E connectors). This is enough to run a pair of 4870's X2's. The TX650 has 2x 6+2's.

Honestly, either of them will do what you want :)

Hehe... my TX750 is a beast... I don't need nearly that amount of power... but for $70 AR + free shipping + combo deal I couldn't pass it up. I'd highly recommend it!
