So Corsair has released a new line of SSDs, now with a Marvell controller.
I've had issues with my Force GT, so I'm going to change it, however, I'm not sure if I want to trust another disk from Corsair.

Reviews seem to like it, but it seems rather new, so should I wait to see if the Corsair forums gets spammed with issues again?

The reviews:

Right now it stands between the Crucial M4 and Corsair Performance Pro, suggestions?

Corsair, like many SSD vendors sold drives based on the current generation of Sandforce controllers. These have turned out to be very up and down in reliability and compatibility - and this isn't Corsair's fault.

The current Marvell based drives, the Crucial M4 and Intel 510 have proven to be reliabile. There is no reason to suggest that Corsair's new drive won't be either, but apart from Samsung, every SSD has launched with bugs which have been fixed later.

The M4 has shown over recent time it is reliable and reports of complaints now are very few. Also the new Samsung 830 appears to have been launched without problems.

Thats not entirely correct and I am curious as to what bugs were found in the new Marvell series of SSDs. Are we saying that because a later firmware came out that improved the drive, that is considered a bug?

Further, if we go back a bit, Samsung would sell their drives without the ability to update whereas they went and sold the same exact drives unbranded which were branded as Corsair where they could update their drives with firmware supplied by Samsung...

As a result, several Samsung drives suffered over exact drives of their competitor because they would not release their own firmware. As well, countless SSDs died as their owner tried to utilize Corsair firmware supplied by Samsung on their drives.

The point I am trying to bring forward is that, really, the Marvell chip in the Pro can be considered one of the only and equal to the newer Samsung as their have been no issues with it.

It is simply a smart business practice not to put your best out immediately and doing so only takes money out of your own pocket whether we like to admit it or not.
