Corsair hasn't shipped 3200 512 to distributers yet. maybe today they said. They only send production units to reviewers, so maybe there will be a review next week.

Some stores are carrying it...I wonder though..it says the PC3000 was made for more aggressive timings...which is the better one to get?

I bought some of the Mushkin level 2 DDR266 (2-2-2), it runs at 440mhz at 2.5-3-3

LINKY

This is with a FSB<|>DDR ratio of 3:5

dont bother with any memory that isnt rated for cas2.
heres why....

say BRANDX sells pc2700 Cas2 with 5ns chips.
they also sell pc3200 Cas2.5 with 5ns chips.

now do you really think there is a differnce in those 2 sticks of ram?

in other words - just buy some 5 or 6ns cas2 sticks and forget the stupid PC rating - its bs.

dbwillis hass the perfect example - PC2100 running 440DDR! i bet Mushkin sells that same exact stick as PC3200 with a different Cas rating.

just my little rant - i may be wrong, maybe not ;)

actually, the best O/C ram bar none is winbond, they now have 333 DDR - its on their site and the reviewers
use it in their comparisons (only 256MB avail. now), but I can only find 512MB DDR266 for sale anywhere.

couple of things. with the cas 2 / 2.5 fiasco that is being described, it is not necessarily the same chips on the 3200 that are used on the 3000 (i havent looked, im just saying not necessairly). just becuz it says cas 2.5 @ 400 doesnt mean that it wont run cas 2 at something lower than that, and expecially with corsair, it sure doesnt mean that it wont run cas 2 @ 400, its just not GUARENTEED to do that. your motherboard is guarenteed to run there, but your sure going to try...... another piece of misinformation here is that the winbond is the best overclocking ram ... not true. the link to the vr-zone article is an old link, if you were to go to vr-zone, you would find an UPDATED copy of that article, which would show that the winbond has since lost to the samsung DDR333 stick, which overclocks to something like 440 @ cas 2 (im not 100 % sure on that number, if you want to know for sure, just head over there and look for their roundup). i just thought id chip in and set a few things straight.

On the Corsair forums, the RamGuy (the Corsair guy) says the 3000 and the 3200 are the same thing, the 3000 is just tested at CAS2 up to 185(370), the 3200 tested at CAS2.5 up to 200(400). Same memory, just tested differently. In their tests they get better performance running at a lower FSB and lower latency. Draw your own conclusions, they're both the same price.
