I would definitely favour the kits with lower latency, considering the close proximity in price. It's simply more performance bang for buck, and the improved latency can be good for gaming. Good luck with your build :)

$182 bucks for 16gb of ram and that's the cheap one that was linked. That is a ridiculous price for such a small amount of ram. GPU prices are even worse. What a terrible time to build a pc...:(

yes I had thought about getting 32gb but forget it. Anyway, you've talked me into the GSkill I chose the 3600 set I realize a bit higher latency but with the cash back I get, and tax figured in only $20 more not sure how the latency/speed thing works out but actually I'm just hoping I have some headroom. The ripjaws memory I have now won't run at its rated speed. I've ordered the RAM, define R5, The Hero board, the 8700k will be here Wed. I should be able to order a new Intel 900P on Monday.... I'm going to be building next Saturday.. I just want to get a close look at the case to confirm which cooler I want to run.

And I do disagree I think it's a great time to build a new computer. At least for me, I've been waiting a long time. An extra $75 or so for RAM not a big deal

You're right man sorry for being such a downer. I hope your new build comes together for you without issue. Sounds like it's going to be a beast. Be sure to post some pics when it's all put together.
