$102.99 - $20 rebate - 15.2% bing cashback.

Some of you like me might have gotten $5 off any order coupons too , for ordering items between june 20 - july 4th for even more savings.

I used that to get this down another $5.

Yes its a 32gb drive, but you can squeeze and OS on there. Linux or xp definitely fit , and 7 will if you dont install a ton of crap and turn off hibernation , make your page file smaller , etc.

Not a bad deal for an indilix drive. if anything you can get 2 of them if you have 2 addresses, and its cheaper than a single 64gb one.

Looks close to the Agility in performance (according to the Anandtech SSD bench). Not the best deal in the past months, but the best deal running right now (Fry's excepted).

what does frys excepted mean? sorry my english is bad ;/ if it was good performance and best deal id buy it but sounds like frys has better deal? shrug still have 4 pc's that need ssd and 6 with the x-25 m g2 guess ill keep waiting

Ooops, a couple errors on my part. Just looked again and it was Microcenter, not Frys. Second, it's expired. So, yes I would say that this is the best deal right now for a 30GB SSD.

That being said, if you're not in a huge hurry, considering I've seen 3 separate deals for $60 30GB Vertex drives, I wouldn't be surprised to see it come back on newegg. On the other hand it's only a price diff of $7, and the performance difference will probably be imperceptible.

there is actaully a slightly cheaper deal on an ocz indilix drive, but it uses the indilix amigo chipset and is much slower read speeds. its like $10 less though, (but its not $100 before rebate so you have to buy $20 worth of crap to get free shipping).

i saw that its pretty badly reviewed, so i think the nova is the best deal in this price range.

tigerdirect has a sandforce ocz 64gb drive right now, that is pretty nice, but its liek $160 - bing , and i'd figure thats the other "best deal"

I got one of these when it was priced at $70 before rebate so after bing cash back and rebate it's a pretty good deal at about $45. I notice my system boots faster, but not sure how much of that is due to the SSD and how much is due to having less stuff and a fresh install of Windows 7 on the HD. It scores 7.1 on Window's experience index which is higher than the WD 640GB drive I used to use (I think it was 5.9).

So what benefits are these drives supposed to have besides faster boot time? I'm not sure when windows actually accesses the drive since it's silent now.

Are you talking about the OCZ Onyx? I actually bought one for an older P4 SATA I system (at $70 two months ago), and I can't really complain. I think you're mostly limited in sequential read/writes, while randoms are about the same (IIRC) as the Indilinx Barefoot controlled drives. If it were priced 10-15% lower than Vertex or Agility, I wouldn't hesistate to recommend it, but at almost identical prices, obviously go for the Vertex here. On top of the performance increase, the Indillinx barefoot controller/firmware has to be more mature at this point (in theory anyway).

i just saw that the newegg reviews some of them were pretty bad. might have been a firmware thing with ocz though.
