Corsair memory packaging not sealed, Orthos fails

I bought 2GB of Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400PRO from Fry's for a $249 special.

It came in the original plastic container however anyone could open and close it without breaking a seal.

Is Corsair memory usually sealed?

I'm trying to figure out if this was a possibly used item that someone else returned because it's defective. The reason I'm concerned is
my system is not Orthos stable at normal speeds and voltages.

System:

ECS P4M800PRO-M V2.0 (from Fry's) @ 2.13 (stock) + retail cooling
Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400PRO 2GB PC2 DDR2 6400 "5-5-5-12" @ DDR2 533 1.9v
Intel E6400 Core 2 Duo (from Fry's)
ThermalTake PurePower 600W (from Fry's)
GeForce 3

The cpu, mb, and PSU were new and sealed and running at normal speeds so I don't know why Orthos fails at around 4 hours. Running the larger FFT (more ram stress) Orthose ran 9 hours fine, plus passes memtest86 for all 10 tests on at least one pass.

Thanks for any help.

Thank you for the quick response.

That makes me feel better about the memory at least.

Now I have to figure out what the problem is.
