hey, the place near me where im buying my mobo ram has some corsair stuff ( here ) im getting an 2100+ tbred B with an 8rda+ and im gonna overclock it a little bit (nothing too hardcore) and i was wondering, is ddr333 from corsair enough? if it is which one should i get? (im looking for 512 mb) if its not, which ddr400 should i get?

P.S also, i see from benchmarks that the differance between 1 512 mb stick and 2 256 mb sticks isnt really enough for me to care about. if u think that dual ddr is alot better, pls recommend me something dual ddr (even though its a bit more expensive, im not that cheap)

P.S.S im looking to spend as little as possible (duh), but maximum of like, 300 i would say (remember this is canadian dollars)

EDIT: theres a bunch of different types ram they can get (surprising for a canadian place), if for my needs, a diff brand is better. pls tell me :))
Kingston 256Mb DDR [366] Hyper-X $85.42 looks like a good deal, then again i know nothing about ram :D

If you can get two sticks for the same price as a single larger stick, get two sticks. If you think you might want to upgrade to another 512MB somewhat soon, then just get the single stick now so you don't have to replace two of them.

Corsair is probably overkill for your needs. You're getting a 266MHz bus processor, so 333MHz memory will be more than you need. If you overclock to something like 300MHz, then other brands of 333MHz will be able to run at those speeds with more aggressive timings, but cost less than Corsair.

I assume that things in Canada will cost a bit more, after the currency conversion. A 512MB module of Corsair Low Latency is only about 220 Canadian in the US.

I'd say go with the Kingston Hyper-X modules. They're half the price of the Corsair and will give you good performance.

There don't seem to be any people who don't find it to be a good value performer.

Why not get the 512MB module like you were planning? 8 dollars cheaper than buying 2 modules of 256MB. I'd also say go with the 333MHz version, 30 dollars cheaper than the 370MHz (ShopLCI has 366 as the spec but it's not). The 370MHz version seems to be not much better, because they rate it at 2-2-2-6 rather than 2-2-2-5.
