i liked the k60 features: open aluminum kb base, mx reds, but the membrane accessory keys and lack of backlighting made me hesitate.

problem solved. now to see what the initial prices will be like. if they have another sub-90$ intro sale like they did with the k60 i may bite.

update: available with blue or brown switches

or in a a compact 10key-less version K65.

Ah yes. I was waiting for the next gen to hit. Looks like Corsair delivered.

Like the K95, the K70 has Cherry MX red switches throughout. It also has the same fancy backlighting; there are four brightness levels, and the LEDs behind each key can be disabled individually. Media keys, a volume wheel, and a USB pass-through are all built in. The Vengeance has anti-ghosting tech, too, and it supports up to 20 simultaneous keystrokes—just enough for all your fingers and toes.

Two versions of the K70 will be available: a black model with red backlighting and a silver one with blue LEDs. Both use the same minimalist aluminum frame, which really sets the Vengeance keyboards apart from the rest of the mechanical pack. There's no option for different Cherry switches, though. You're stuck with the linear stroke and light touch of the MX reds.
Still don't know if I'd like linear switches for typing. If only there was a local store carrying mechanical keyboards ...

i tried the k60 at frys, the lack of tactile bump is probably bad for typing. i have no issue with it for gaming.

i may get a k70 and a rosewill with mxblues or something with a bump just to compare.

Still waiting to try out the Cherry Reds first. Last month I found myself near a Fry's (152 miles away), I went in and found some K60s in stock, but they were sealed up so all I could do is stare at the retail box.

Plus I'm going to need a price drop. I like almost everything about the K70, but at that price it better be the be-all end-all of keyboards. $130 should buy me perfection in style and function that endures for decades.

Did you know that CM storm and Rosewill have put out new mechanical gaming keyboards?

Have u examined all the options yet?

Remember that the corsair k70 suffered from keys freezing probably due to driver issues. Corsair drivers could be an issue.

Thanks for the news.

When I first bought my K60 it was 79$
It touched that price point back around the beginning of Nov 2012, IIRC. Which means it's a $80 keyboard selling for $109+ or whatever its price is now. Haven't been paying attention.

I went and checked them out. I like their switch and lighting options but they lack the dedicated media controls of the Corsair, and feature recessed keys, not the pedestal key mounts of the Corsair.

I have a corsair K90, very nice keyboard overall. Got it like 2-3 months ago I can say I am very satisfyed with it. I found out that corsair is going to offer the K95 very soon which happens to be fully mechanical. I wish i could have waited to get the full mechanical keys but honestly very happy with this one.

I just picked one up today.

It is glorious.

It was on sale a bit and I had a gift card itching to be spent but it was certainly expensive (most mechanical keyboards are in the 100+ range anyway though not all). I like Reds a lot better than browns which took the g710 out of the picture for me.

Besides that, it is very sharp and the elevated keys with flat back makes it neat looking and far less gross.

The software is nonexistent mind you, you get a beautiful generic keyboard with a usb pass through. There are no extra software based features to be had here. Just a wonderful toy.

I didn't want the macro keys so I chose not to get the k95 and save some desk space. I got the silver with blue lights version, tried out the black and red version first at the store.

I should add that I am not sure if the k70 is $30 better than the CM Trigger, or the Razer BW expert. There are certainly many cheaper options in Cherry Red (or whatever else you prefer) but none with 20 key rollover.

I have the k90 right now wish i coulda waited few months if i knew the k95 was comming out full mech, only thing is its $50 more then i paid for the k90. Think i got the k90 for like 90-100, well worth it really nice keyboard good feel. One thing that sucks it takes up 2 usb ports.

The k60 is a better buy than k70 imo. K95 is overkill for me.

The k60 is an improvement over the k70 for the most part. The k60 looks good to me.

Type "corsair k60 reviews" in youtube and decide for yourself.
