So last week Ibought an HX850, a friend of mine recommanded it and he didnt mention the AX850, bought it and since then idid some research, every review stated that its an 80+ Gold PSU regardless that the box states that its silver, now looking at the AX850 that icould've bought for 33$ more, is it worth to resell the HX850 and get the AX850 instead? is the AX850 that is Gold certified and is fully modular + its based on the seasonic X series (HX850 is CWT) worth the headache over the HX850? or Ishould just shutup and be happy with the HX850?

Not worth it unless you have bought the AX850 in the first place. Your current PSU is semi modular which is good enough in my opinion as some cables like the 20+4 pin power is necessary and modularity of that cable is unnecessary. 80+ Silver is good enough.

The small percentage of better efficiency won't amount to more than a couple of dollars per year in electricity savings, so I'd say, NO. It's not worth replacing the PSU. (unless you can sell it for as much/more than you actually paid for it to begin with)

Much as I prefer the AX850, the difference between HX850 and AX850 is small unless you're a silencer. If you don't give a crap about noise differences, the efficiency difference is small and you should shut up and be happy as you stated ;)

Well im not a silencer but idont like jet engine noises, the HX850 is not famous as being a noisy PSU, review's stated that at load the 135mm fan is actully quite. but ihaven't tested it yet.

Well If iwould sell it Iwould lose about 27$ and add the 33$ for the AX850 premium. so again dont know if its worth it.

Reviews showed that its should have been stated Gold but idont understand why corsair stated it silver.

The AX-850 is "Gold," the HX-850 is "Silver."

Both very good PSU's...and I'm sure that Corsair would claim the "Gold" rating if they were positive that all the PSU's would meet that standard.
Since Corsair themselves claim the "Silver" rating, I'd say that's the appropriate rating for the units. Do they perhaps exceed the rating? Sure...but that's a good thing, IMO...but they only promise silver performance.

I don't remember reading the AX hit 90% at JG, it's not a bad PSU contrary to it being rated as a "mission critical" PSU and being their professional line. JG has a review on both the HX & AX

HX 850w
AX 850w

EDIT: re-reading the HX review, you got a better PSU than over the AX. The things I looked for were the ripple suppression, the efficiency, and the turn on test. The difference is marginal and may vary in other reviews so take this like a grain of salt but you can rest assured that they are VERY similar in quality and performance.
