My system:
Q6600 B3 @ 356x9 - 3.2ghz @ 1.35v
ASUS P5W DH Deluxe
4x1gb Gskill DDR2-800 5-4-3-4 @ 2.1v
1xeVGA 8800GTX @ stock
2x74gb Raptors Raid0
1x250gb Seagate
1x16x DVD+RW

I'd like to upgrade to an nvidia chipset, and run another 8800GTX... Not quite sure the hx620 can handle it...

Physically it will do it but, with an OCed quad, I'd suggest our TX-750 so you are not running at such a high percentage of load.

hey i have a question.

i have the rig in sig and i tried to rip and burn a dvd while playing BF2142 and i couldnt do it.

the only thing i could think of was not getting enough power but with a single 8800GTS i thought the hx620 could do it. the game played but i was getting like .25 FPS with the stuttering.

Idiote, it could be ram or harddrive related to ? I doubt it has anything to do with power.

Configuration Idle Power Bioshock Load Crysis Load
8800 Ultra x1 217W 329W 337W
8800 Ultra x2 300W 475W 520W
8800 Ultra x3 388W 730W 660W

Some numbers that can be found in this article: http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3183&p=1

Of course ultra's want more power then a regular gtx. It's save to say you'd be looking at 400w of power needed, probably even closer to 500w, which would be around 75% or higher of the 620hx's capacity. So it will work, but a little more headroom wouldn't be a bad thing. There's more options then the 750tx though, not sure about the price of the 750tx, so definately look around.

I agree, your stuttering is probably related to the HD thruput or possibly memory if you are not using a 64bit OS. It has nothing to do with the PSU.

i didnt think it was power since before i bought this corsair i had a lot of confidence in the product. i did read a guy last year ran 2 8800GTX in SLI with a quad and a raptor and after a week of benching had zero crashes.

the dvd i was buring was using a different physical drive for the data to burn than the physical drive my OS/Apps are installed on.

my rig utilizes 3.2gb of ram out of my 4gb due to memory addressing issues of a 32 bit OS.

im holding off on vista 64 bit for a lil while.
