Picked one up for a build few months back, when buy.com had it for 99 - 20 MIR.

Quick blurb on this PSUs and selection advice:

- This is an awesome PSU - ABSOLUTELY QUIET, excellent power efficiency, modular cables, very well built / packaged.

- 520W is way more than enough for most people's needs despite the urban legends floating around, fueled by those KW sized PSU releases / reviews. You don't need a 600-KW range PSU unless you want to double that up as a low-efficiency space heater. High wattage PSUs often have noticeably poorer power efficiency at 80-200 watts that average systems consume at idle, compared 3-500W PSUs running at the same idle state wattage. This is one of the few with a good efficency curve all the way down to 100 some odd watts last I checked. Details @ silentpcreview.com.

- In short, if you need a PSU to power a standard / gaming rig, this one's definitely worth considering.

My own take? It's quiet. I'd like to find out how much power my system is using, but I doubt it's anywhere near 75% of the output. Or maybe even 50%.

I just saw this deal and came here to post it and what do you know, somebody else stole my thunder.


Anyways, this is the cheapest price I've seen it go for. And like what DarkPhantom36 said, if you use google checkout you get an additional $10 off. Now we just need to find some coupon codes to take some more off.


I'm building a new rig and was planning on buying this power supply from zipzoomfly.com but now buy.com has the cheapest price so I'll have to purchase this tomorrow.


I'm waiting for Anandtech's P35 rumored motherboard roundup this coming week then I'll purchase the rest of my system. I'm still not sure on the processor, E6750 or G0 Q6600....just need some reviews to make my final decision.
