Corsair hx1000 coil noise

I've read several stories of peeps with the hx1000 failing. I'm concerned about mine now that I'm hearing what I perceive to be coil noise coming from my pc. If you're one of the folks who had one fail did you hear anything from yours before it bit the dust? Thanks.

Coil squeal is usually considered worthy of RMA. Try posting at the Corsair forums and talk to one of the "beards." They'll usually ask a couple of questions...then tell you to request an RMA.

Heck, they probably won't ask much at all. Redbeard (one of the Corsair reps found around here sometimes and at JG's site) says Corsair will RMA any of their power supplies for c/o coil squeal...no problems at all. (Unless it's out of warranty......)

I checked things again and the noise is actually coming from my apc ups and the side is hot like the battery is overheating. I got an error message the other day on it so I just went ahead and ordered a replacement battery. No noise from the corsair with my ear against it under load.
