I have a new in box (never used it) H50 and a was wonering if it would fit on the new SB chip Motherboards? Anybody tried it. I understand alot of the mounting is the same as the old intel mounting, but not 100% sure. Sombody must have tried it?

Chapped: How did the H50 do? I currenlty run a custom WC setup with my old system, I was going to go with a Xigma (had great results with them) but I'm just not sure. Having a quiet system has been great these last few years as opposed ot my old AIR cooled hair dryers. I was looking at a duel fan system on the H50 hopeing for the the best of both worlds. Good cooling and quiet. No chance? I know the h70 is a better unit, but I have the h50 sitting in a box here.
I will be OC'ing.. not the insane stuff. 4.2-4.5 depending on chip, mild voltage increase, again not the major ones most are doing.

Air Xigma Dark Knight or H50? any suggestions?

With the stock fan its pretty quiet and at 4.2 on my 2500K it kept it around 70c under load. However I didnt have it set up as an intake as recommended, because of the way my case is designed I could only use it to exhaust the air.

H50 + 2 fans in push/pull should be great. Also, you going to run 2 or 4 memory modules?

I use it on my GA-P67A-UD3P without a problem.

I used it also and just returned it for the H70. I have my 2600k @ 4.2 with it setup as an intake with 2 identical fans as push/pull and still ramped up to 75c+ under full load. Needless to say, I was not to my satisfaction. So, with that said, I now have the H70 running and I am at or around 60c under load. The radiator is larger and dissipates the heat much better.

My rig has 2 GTX 260/216 running full load (F@H) so it could get a bit warm in the case. I do have very good airflow so I know that wasn't the issue. The H50 Just didn't seem to want to get rid of the heat as well. The H70 is much better IMO. Here is some test results of the H50 and H70 along with others.http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/corsair_h70/4.htm

Good luck 🙂

Be aware that with some cases you can't fit two fans with the H50 since there will be no clearance for the actual water block. That's why the H70, which comes with two fans standard, has a lower profile WB.

I couldn't fit two fans in my case and I'm using a CM 690 II which isn't cramped case by any means!

Well all my questions and I went with the Xigmatek Dark Knight (prefer the non plated one, but was one I had on hand), the H50 will be waiting (or sold). It seems I got lucky and got 4.6 with no voltage changes out of my chip (of course I only ran intelburn for about 2 hours, not sure if anybody thinks that enough or not, it is for me) I ran about 56-60 on the hottest cores and it seemd to vary about 2 degrees fluxuating. I MUST STATE I had the side of case off during Intelburn. My case does raise about 4 degrees when case side is on so I suspect i may go up 4-5 degrees on intelburn (I wont be at max load for 2 hours ever! at least I hope not). My idel temps are same with case side on or off. From what i read I think I'm doing fine as long as it stays stable. With the side case on and some gameing i have never hit 55 yet (BO, L4D2, Dragon Age and even some crysis to see how the new rig ran.. all games for at least an hour each).

Not sure if anybody reads at HardOCP but in the forums is a guy who tested the H50 VS H70 with some different fan configurations and the h50 (more fins, thiner rad) actually did better with duel fans. LOTS of pictures and graphs. There is much debate and some very good reading, some math on why and so on. Most seem to think the waterblock may be better in some way on the H50. Take it for what you will, but a good read if you believe it or not.

OH... ah, Im running 2 stick of ram.. but right now am planning on 2 more (its so CHEAP!).
