Hi, couple of months ago I bought my new PC and had it assembled by a tech guy. Now, he installed the H110i GTX in the reverse way as he said that there is no space to install those fans on the radiator (Pic1). He then installed the fans on the top of the radiator and not in the down way (the usual way) (Fans on Top.Pic taken from above). I want the fans to be installed on the down so that the light of the fans would go downwards.

Also that when he said that he is unable to connect the USB cable to the H110i due to the motherboard and he installed that knob in the reverse way again and connected the cable (Pic2). But now, to me it looks bad that the knob is installed in an upside down way. I want it to be in the proper way with the USB cable connected.

I have a Cosmos 2 Ultra Tower , one of the best cases for gaming rigs and still I had to face such issues and the motherboard I am using is Asus Maximus VIII Extreme.

So, any way to solve this without changing the case ? :(

I'm just not seeing the reasons why he installed it the way he did. From your pics I see plenty of clearance between the radiator and the heatsink around the cpu. Whether the fans are installed on top or below it's not going to change the thickness of the two. It takes up the same amount of space either way.

On the cpu block I also don't see any clearance issues that would prevent it being mounted with the logo horizontally. The USB cable should be more than long enough to reach the usb header at the bottom of the motherboard. On mine (H100i GTX) I have the block with the logo horizontally and usb cable going up to the top of motherboard and down the back and then up again to the header. There was still a little bit of slack left.

So either take it back to him and have him fix it to the way you want it or if you're handy with a screwdriver you can do it yourself.

One reason why he may have installed the radiator + fans the way he did was due to dust. If the fans are set to exhaust (i.e. blowing air from inside the case to the outside), the current configuration would make the radiator easier to clean.

I'm considering flipping mine so the fans are on top pulling the air out. The other way pulls in a ton of dust and quickly reduces the efficiency. Was watching a few videos the other day and it looks like the orientation should be tested.

I think ideally you'll want the fans to take the air inside the case, push it through the radiator and then exhaust it outside. That way the hot air is pushed out instead of in and relying on your exhaust fan(s) to push it out. On my case if not for the radiator fans there's only 1 exhaust fan in the back. I have 3 intake fans so if I have the radiator fans blowing into the case too I don't think my single exhaust fan can expel all that air out quick enough. As how it is now there's 3 intake and 3 exhaust. And like you said there's also the dust concern.
