  • Intel i5 2500K
  • CORSAIR XMS3 4GB
  • Sapphire HD6950 2GB
  • MSI P67A-GD53-H (B3)
  • NZXT Lexa-S
  • WD Caviar Blue 500GB 7200RPM
  • ASUS DRW-24B3ST 24X SATA DVD

I'm not sure which PSU I should get - the Corsair Gaming CMPSU-600G (GS600) or the Corsair CMPSU-600G (CX600.) What's the difference?

Also, how much power would my system use and how much overhead would I have for future upgrades? (Hard drive/RAM only - CPU and GPU should be the same.)

GS600 is better

both made by CWT
difference is
GS is rated at 40C
CX is rated at 30C

GS is independently regulatied
CX is group regulated

GS has 576W available for 12V components
CX has 480W available for 12 components

600W gives you plenty of head room for adding hard drives

  • Your system would use around 300W at stock settings with full load. That gives you plenty of room to unlock and overclock your graphics card to a 6970 as well as to overclock your CPU.
