Corsair Dominator memory + Intel DX58SO board, is it a good combo?

I was wondering if the price of around $160 for 6GB of Corsair Dominator DDR3 1600 memory, was worth the price? Or would I be paying extra just for the way it looks?

I plan on combining it with an Intel DX58SO Motherboard and the Corei7 920 cpu.

Any thoughts?

any particular reason for getting the DX58SO? intel boards arent known for being the top overclockers, so unless stability is your only concern, i would pick a different board. as for the memory, the only reason to buy dominator memory is if you are doing some heavy overclocking, so unless you plan on doing so i would just pick whatever the cheapest 6gb kit on the market is from your favorite manufacturer in that price segment. dominator memory is great stuff (especially the dominator GT kits they have now), but unless you are concerned about being held back on your OC by memory performance or stability, there are other options which will do the job just as well for gaming performance for a lot less money. newegg has a bunch of 6GB kits up for under $100 now, including a low latency G.Skill PI series kit

I would get the gigabyte EX58A-UD5 when it comes out, and pair it with a D0 stepping.
