Corsair DDR2 Voltage Question

Hello,

I have a few questions as memory is one of my weaker areas.
In waiting for the elusive E8400 to come into stock somewhere, I've been doing more research into the parts I've selected for my next PC.

I would've liked to use Micron IC's again, but I'm told by the Corsair forum that Micron does not make any 2GB chips (for a 2x2GB kit.) If that's true, then I'll accept that, but that's not my real question.

My question is what voltage the Corsair TWIN2X4096-6400C5 run at.
Newegg Link
Newegg states that it runs at 1.8v, while Corsair's product spec sheet says it runs at 1.9v, and users report both values being used at one point or another so I have no idea who to believe. I haven't dealt with increasing memory voltages before as I used to just plug them in at 1.8v and go, I don't know if running them at higher voltages is good or not, although I'd believe running them at 1.8v will at least save some power.

If they run at 1.9v I was thinking of getting the TWIN2X4096-6400C5DHX as an alternative as those seem to run at 1.8v.
Newegg Link
I'm not sure if it's worth an additional $10 though.

In any case, the mobo I'm planning on buying is a GA-EP35-DS3P if that helps.
I'm not planning on overclocking the FSB at all, but if the timings could be tightened a little bit that might help, although again that might involve raising the voltage. Can anyone help shed some light on this? Also if you have this memory and you've tightened the timings a bit, how are you doing it?

Thanks in advance.

The Corsair TWIN2X4096-6400C5 runs at 1.9v, here is a link to the specs: http://www.corsair.com/_datash.../TWIN2X4096-6400C5.pdf

I just bought this kit and I am having problems with my ECS A770M-A motherboard playing nice with it. It will not post with both sticks installed. I can get it to boot with one stick installed. I even went in and made sure the voltage and everything was set correctly. I think it may just be my motherboard not liking the memory or something. I am going to run memtest on it to see.

The TWIN2X4096-6400C5DHX does say it runs at 1.8v, here is a link to those specs: http://www.corsair.com/_datash...IN2X4096-6400C5DHX.pdf

Let us know if you had any problems.

Thanks, although it's a little late now since I ended up ordering the non DHX ones.

I know the spec sheets say 1.9v but my problem was other insist 1.8v was enough, which was a conflict. Anyway I'll try them out and see what happens I suppose.

If in doubt, just setting them all to 1.9 will not hurt either one. It's a pretty minor boost - compare to overclockers who go up to 2.1+ before generating too much heat.

That's probably what I'll do if they dont like 1.8v, it's just that my ram is really old and I've only ever plugged them in and went on, and it defaulted to 1.8v which is the standard I believe. I've currently no experience toying with voltages or know of what problems they cause.
