The CX is Corsair's low end line, but it still puts out what it claims to on the label... unlike some other junk like Diablotek or other low end crap.

Actually, it doesn't. The label says it's a 600W unit. It's not. If the CX600 was marketed as a 450 or 500W unit, then I would have no complaints. But it's marketed as a "600W" unit.

The CX600 is based on a CWT DSA platform, which only goes up to 500W.

The only reason Corsair can put a 600W label on it is because they rated it at near room temperature (30C), instead of 40C or 50C as most good power supplies are rated at. The CX600 is really a 500W in disguise. I'm disappointed that Corsair is pulling the same old trick used by cheap PSU manufacturers of rating their units at low temperature.

The Seasonic-based NeoEco 520 at ~$40 on sale is a better deal.

Even though the user reviews are generally good, some of the comments are enough to turn me off because they spell a short life expectancy IMO.

I'd rather find a bargain SSD than a bargain PS.

Ergo, it puts out exactly what it claims to on the label. ():)

Seriously though, people hashed it out over the CX430 time and time again (few locked threads at overclock.net arguing over it) but that one was proven to be able to put out what it claimed to on the label, and then some. Heck, more and more cases now come with the PSU at the bottom so they don't even heat up as much these days so PSUs no longer run as warm as they used to.

In any case, I believe my statement stands - the PSU will put out what it claims to on the label, and it is better than Diablotek by a mile. Heck, it should be better than the Diablotek 1050W unit that was reviewed at jonnyGURU.com.
