Well...was going to buy it, great deal and all...but NewEgg is removing promo codes when you finalize checkout with Paypal now....

And when I tried to pay with V.me by Visa NewEgg gave me the generic "can't process your order b/c stuffs broke, yo" error....

Hopefully it's in stock when I get home. :\

Thanks for posting, OP!

Can anyone else confirm Newegg is doing this? I ordered about 5-6 things last week, paid with PayPal, and used promo codes sucessfully.

They apply successfully for me up until I finalize checkout and hit "place order"..then I get the error below, when it was working just fine before authenticating with PayPal.

"There is an issue with promo code EMCYTZT3255. Please check promo code again or contact customer service."

I was getting that earlier paying with a CC as well. Just kept trying it (3-4 times) and it finally went through. I think they're having some general issues.

How is this PS? I've got a 3570k build and wondered if I should get this or stay with my ANTEC 500W?

Thanks.

Antec 500W is rather vague, but I wouldn't buy this PSU to replace it. I bought the non-modular version of this a few months ago for $20 after rebate. It works fine, not the quietest PSU around, but the case it was in probably didn't help. For $25, you're unlikely to find a better backup or PSU for a simple HTPC or server.

LOL. Had to be vague for its at home and I'm not sure what it is...

Thanks for the input.

I bought the non-modular version for my 3570k system. It works fine and is very quiet. (I'm not sure what Pariah is talking about.) My only gripe is the wires are only just long enough for my Chieftec mid-tower case.

It's an ANTEC Earthwatts Model EA-500D. Does anyone know if that works with the MSI Z77A-G41 MB with the Intel 3570K???

Just curious...

Thanks!

That PSU is of good quality and needs no replacement unless it's been upward of
5 years. It's sufficient for almost any single card plus a overclock on the CPU/GPU (excepting the Nvidia Titan).

Got one of these (CX430M) for my gf's build. Works great, and looks good. Was worth the $50 I paid for it, I never can be bothered to follow through with the rebates though lol.

I started to give her an Antec Earthwatts 380D but decided to put that in an old XP box instead. The Corsair goes with her case, which is a 500R so it just looks right sitting in it.

Very quite PSU, and a 3 yr warranty to top it off. Not too shabby. :)

I personally am not a fan of modular PSU's though. I think the cables just look cheap looking compared to sleeved non-modular cables. No way I'd have one in my rig.
