CORSAIR Builder Series CX430
$15.99 after rebate, free shipping

This deal good only on 12/6 from 1:00PM - 11:59PM PST at Newegg.

Note that the "Builder Series" PSUs are not as high quality as the other Corsair units. This one is a bit "overrated," and is really more like a 350W or 380W power supply. However, for $16 this is better than any of the other crap that's out there in this price range (except for some other super hot deals).

*thumbs up*
I picked one up over turkey day, along with a Coolermaster 430 Elite (didn't realize they were both branded '430' until I popped it into the case, making it look like a matched build). $41 for both items AR was a great buy and both sport a flat black powdercoat finish that really looks good.

i just blew up my spare power supply the other day, great timing

edit: how do you think it compares to the antec greenpower 400ish?

Lots of bad reviews on Newegg site for this. Skimping on a power supply is never a good thing. Buy a cheaper processor or videocard. At least those won't fry your whole system like a cheap power supply could.

Take a look at the earliest four - One egg reviews out of the the seven One egg reviews posted.
Not one of them had a bad unit. All four of them were complaining of either:

1) Seasonic doesn't build these anymore
2) The warranty is 2 years instead of 3 years
3) The 12volt rail has 28A instead of 30A
4) Sleeve bearing instead on BB fan

In fact two of these 4 mopes actually said the PS runs fine.

Remove these 4 idiot reviews and the 3 eggs will probably go up to 4 eggs.

This is probably the best 20.00 AR power supply you will find.

edit:
Three of the 2- eggs rating also had power supplies that worked fine.

Complaints were:
1) Only 2 SATA connections
(The picture clearly shows 4 SATA connects)

2) Amps drop from 33A (450VX) to 28A on this one. Drop of 5 year warranty to 2 years
(Why compare this to a 450VX which is a more expensive PS?)

So what were the rest of this weeks shell shockers? For some reason I'm not getting the email anymore.

Yeah, I'm not getting them either, and they used to be listed here as a sponsored sticky but alas no more. These days I just get the daily email, so I don't know what's coming.

The EA-430D is a better unit. It is a somewhat decent Delta built unit that should be able to do full wattage at normal operating temperatures with decent efficiency. The Corsair is neither - but is really cheap, and really a lot better than your typical Apevia/Diablotek/Logisys crap.

Remove these 4 idiot reviews and the 3 eggs will probably go up to 4 eggs.

Now that's some real investigative reporting. People really have their panties tied up about this unit at some other forums. They're just butt-sore because they feel betrayed by their favorite sport^H^H^H^H PSU manufacturer.
