I'm being very constrained on my budget as i already have gaming PC so this has to stay cheap and cheerful.

The corsair is, I think, considered the bottom of the pile for acceptable PSUs to be used in systems. SO damn cheap but decent quality.

My system will be mini itx (already have node 304) with a Pentium G3420 and a GTX750 so don;t need a high watt PSU but I do want it to be modular and quiet as possible.

The CX seems okay except that I've seen reviews that say they get coil whine from it so I was thinking maybe I should spend a bit more and get something like

What do people reckon? Any other suggestions? Don't want to go above £50. :/

£50 sounds like a lot for a 430W PSU budget. But considering that PSU is only £10 more than the Corsair, I would say go for it.

My CX600 runs pretty hot and I'm only putting about 450W load on it, but it's stable as a rock. However, I do not have any issues with coil whine or noise.

I have 2 CX430 PSUs in service, they do very well. Yes, they are inexpensive, but they seem to be of decent quality. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one...

CX series pricing isn't that competitive in the UK and Europe because there's XFX which offers better caps and 5 year warranty for a similar price. For a low power build I'd get XFX 450W £34 at scan.
