Corsair CM2X1024-6400C3 gone bad?
I'm beginning to suspect that my RAM is bad. I bought the Corsair CM2X1024-6400C3 RAM, which is more than twice the price of the C5. I bought it because it was supposed to be one of the best RAMs for the Core 2 Duo. Anandtech got it to go to 1121 MHz, so I thougt I'd see how far I could push it.
Here's the funny thing (or sad if you're me): The bastard of a RAM won't even get to the specified 1067MHz!
The thing is that I can't get it above 899MHz no matter how high I set the Memory Voltage. I've tried just about everything, but the bastard won't run the #5 Test on Memtest, it freezes directly.
Am I overlooking something major? I tried running it with my E6600 OC'd to 3,2 GHz and also with the default settings at 2,4 GHz (but with the voltage turned up on the RAM). There was no difference, it boots and all but it won't pass Memtest.
Anyone got a clue as to what in the world is going on?
