Hello guys

So, 7 days ago, i upgraded from 3770k to 6700k, i got new ram (Corsair 16GB 3200 LPX DDR4) new motherboard (GB Z170X Gaming 7 G1) and i kept my old PUS, AX1200i

everything was fine first 3 days, then next morning my PC wouldn't turn on, fans and LED will turn on for half a second and then turn off immediately.

I tried removing the GPU, SSD, H110i, nothing would make my PC to turn on, basically leaving just the mobo and cpu cables on, i even tried to reset the BIOS, remove the BIOS battery, i tried to power on the PSU manually with a wire, still, didnt work...

I tried my backup PSU and vuala, it worked...pc booted up. Then i took my AX1200i out of the case, tried powering it on again with a wire manually and it worked, it turned on, i put it back in and my computer booted up...

This happened on day 4 and day 7, 2 times in 3 days...

What could be the case of this problem guys??

Steps i done:

1) Swapped, removed etc RAM, didn't boot (fans would spin for 1 sec)
2) Removed Motherboard and CPU cables, didn't boot (fans would spint for 1 sec)
3) Tried to manually boot the PSU when having the CPU cable on the mobo and also when disconnected, manually via a wire didnt boot again fans would spin for 1 sec)
4) Connected an EVGA PSU to CPU and Motherboard, and boom, it booted.
5) Connected the Corsair again to Motherboard and CPU and it booted....***?!

Anyone guys?

That's really odd. Lately reports of issues similar to this have been increasing. I know its not the best solution, did you try running the motherboard with that PSU outside of the case for a few days?

Are you allowing the computer to go into sleep mode or is it running the whole time? Do you see any new power options in the BIOS.

Sometimes compatibility problems with power supplies exist, the AX1200i sometimes has problems too. Maybe this is just an issue of incompatibility. I would try an alternative PSU for a few days.

I think you'll probably need to do some testing here but if that affects your ability to return components, you'll have to decide the course of action.

What was the case on the previous reports of other people? They also had the AX1200i? Did they have to replace the PSU to fix the issue?

I am connecting my EVGA G2 to test it out, it could be the PSU...
