Corsair A70 or the Noctua NH-U12P SE2 for OC'ed E8400 build

Hey everybody, I am running my E8400 with 6gb of ddr2 memory on a Asus P5B motherboard.
Currently I am at 3.4ghz with the stock E-series heatsink fan, temperatures on idle are at 44 degree celcius, max while gaming have been 55-60 degree celcius.

I am obviously looking to get a high quality Air Cooler so I can push this little processor even further.
I have been reading up about high quality heatsink fan's and I narrowed it down to either the Corsair A70 or the Noctua NH-U12P SE2.

I find that information between sites is very inconsistent. Some sites compare the A70 as equal if not better to the Noctua NH-U12P, other sites state the A70 isn't as high quality and doesn't perform as good.

Anybody have some feedback? any recommendations for good quality HSF?
thank you!

The A70 appears to be discontinued, according to newegg. Not sure how accurate that is, but it may be hard to find.

That said, I think both should be largely sufficient for any reasonable over clocking, especially if you got this far with the bundled heat sink and fan.
I would actually recommend to look at cheaper products, as the value of a 60-70 euro heat sink cooling such an old CPU is questionable. For that money you can almost get a new Ivy Bridge CPU, which would perform just as well.
I would recommend looking at some Scythe products (Ninja, Yasya, Mugen) which also normally do pretty well in tests, but are -much- cheaper than a Noctua. Single fan solutions generally aren't that much less performant than dual-fan ones.

I ran a Ninja (and it's still running) on an OC'd E6600 to 3.33 (CPU would go higher, but I preferred to run my memory at around 1100) and it was both quiet and keeping the CPU in its comfort zone.

Dont know about the A70 but i own the U12P SE2 and it is excellent, it has the same easy to use mounting system as the D14, fans are pretty much inaudible on low as well, i snagged it used for £25 a few months ago and im pretty satisfied with it. Can be mounted facing up or to the rear.
