I have a Corsair 800D case with all 4 hot-swappable drive bays populated. My problem is that when my computer is powered on, it emits a harmonic resonance like a low hum that comes in and out like a sine wave.

I have it populated with 2 Hitachi Deskstars, a Seagate 7200.12 and a WD Caviar black. At first i thought it might have been the drives, so I tried to isolate it by swapping each of my different hard drives out with my intel SSD. The harmonic resonance happens even with 3 drives and 1 SSD regardless of which manufacturer.

My question is has anyone ever encountered this kind of problem before and what are ways I can get rid of the noise? Would rubber washers work from the hardware store?

It's your fan(s). If you're lucky, it's the case fans -- you can get a voltage controller for them, or use washers.

If you're NOT lucky it's your power supply fan.
