I currently have a Corsair 750TX psu powering an i7 930, GTX 470 4 hdd. I recently bought a 8800gts(g92) to use for Physx & was curious if my psu would be enough.
Any thoughts?

You'll be fine. You've got a bit of overhead, even if you assume 100% load on both cards and the CPU, which won't happen. You'll need an upgrade if you ever decide to go SLi however.

Hey, I appreciate the reply. I used the psu calculator, but I really don't trust things like that. I prefer human opinion.
Thanks

Calcs are a bit hit or miss. But in this case you can take a look at Anand's benches for a good idea of power consumption. At 100% load the 470 system has 408w consumption and the 8800 system has 278w consumption. So 686w, but that's including a second physical processor as well as a second set of all the miscellaneous smaller power draws in a system, so you're probably closer to 600.

Not to mention Corsair PSUs are very well built, so you could probably go a bit over 750w on the thing and still be ok in a pinch.

You will be fine with that setup, the corsair PSU's are all solid units. Even if you went SLI 470's and dropped the 8800gts(which you wouldnt need with SLI'ed 470's) i think you would be ok. Do not worry about your PSU blowing up.

I have a 850TX and it is a very solid unit.

Hey, wow.
Thanks for all the thumbs up. I look forward to seeing what a dedicated card might do in Mafia 2 & Metro 2033.
I feel more comfortable pushing it now.
