Corsair 550D front panel USB 3 issue

Has anyone else had this problem:

Corsair 550D front panel USB 3.0 are working on and off only. USB 3 devices disappear from one connector within 30 seconds and the second connector does not even react when a USB 3 device is connected. USB 2 devices seem to connect ok. I have only done 15-20 minutes of testing with USB 2 devices.

I have checked everything on the MOBO (GA-Z77X-UD5H) and the USB 3 MOBO connectors are working fine (tested with Gigabyte provided 2.5 inch USB 3 panel).

Any suggestions / help is greatly appreciated.

I haven't had any issues with my fronst USB connectors on the 550D case.

Did you install all the USB 3 drivers that came with your motherboard? The two Z77 boards I have... have an Intel USB 3.0 controller and one off brand.

If the front panel its self was having issues then it just seems that no USB device would work (or they would all have issues). You could also look in device manager at the power savings settings for each usb hub... I've had some devices that would vanish if I didn't disable that.. even during active use. (I think there is a setting for it in power management as well.. I just prefer to disable it only on the ports I use).
