I pulled the dvd and floppy out of my epox to test another system then put them back in but cant load windows. Eventually just gave up and put in another formatted hard drive but it only gets to loading setup files-freezes. Tried two hard drives and two different floppies as well as different W98 disks-no go.
I sometimes get low memory, virus or hardware problems reported in a window when it freezes or corrupt file box but dont know which. I run antivirus. Thought for a bit it might be a bad hard drive but bothe HD's do the same thing. Any clues as I'm totally stuck. Gonna pull everything out of it now and start from scratch.

I have solved my own problem--I caused my own problem

What I forgot was that I changed out the superorb for the GW 32 with the 80mm fan again. My problem has been a heat issue all along--temp was creeping up to 40c then up to 52c! after being on for awhile. When I had put the GW back on and swapped out the 60mm to the 80mm once more, I had reversed the spring clip and it is supposed to have the hinged arm toward the wider part of the socket. Heed my warning it is the simple things. By the way, soap and hot water take AS off great! Just be sure to thoroughly dry it after.

Now I have to rebuild all my hard drive and I think I'm on the WD now and not the Quantum!

also, with you running 160mhz, have you set jumper jp3 to 1 and 2 pins????

that sets your pci bus etc to 1/3 instead of 2/3

I made that mistake, and my scsi drives were showing all kinds
of gibberish upon directory checking, and i was only at 133x9 (1200)
