Corrupt WMA in WindowsXP

My small network went down this week (WinXP Pro, 3x Win98SE, 1 5 port hub). I discovered that the problem was with the Dell Windows XP Pro machine. When I went to the Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) screen on the Network Properties, I got the following message:

The Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) might be corrupt. To correct this, use System Restore to restore Windows to an earlier time.... etc.

I tried System Restore - no joy.
I tried reinstalling the Network Driver - No luck either.
I downloaded some fixes (WMI patch, etc) from Dell's Website - Still no luck!
I did a search on the MS KnowledgeBase - Nothing
I did a search in Google - Other people have had this problem but there doesn't seem to be a solution!!!

Do you have any ideas?? I really would like to get ICS going again so that all my computers can share the Internet Connection. I really DON'T want to reinstall WindowsXP (seems very old fashioned and V. Frustrating).

Your help would be gratefully appreciated.

This is not General Hardware related.
