corrupt vgaoem.fon

I couldn't boot up on the second PC and got a Missing or Corrupt vgaoem.fon message.

I did a recovery and typed in the expand e:\i386\vgaoem.fo_ c:\windows\system where e: is the cd-rom but instead of getting vgaoem.fo_ 1 file(s) expanded, I get Access is denied.

Tried to do a directory of c: from a d: prompt and get
Directory of C:
An error occurred during the directory enumeration.

Looks like the c: drive is inaccessible. My daughter has a bunch of college information in a folder on this drive (okay, okay, next time I back up).

Anyway to get the vgaoem file over to C:???

Thanks,
Pete
